Thank you muddy. It's a pretty plant.

It does look like 'Midnight Reiter'. I put mine in the gravel so it really shows up.

Yes, it would look great against a lighter background. I don't know what the difference is between the two, but they are definitely different vars. I'll have to get a 'midnight' so I can see!

I have this plant too Karensusan....I planted 3 a few years ago and only have one left, although I found a tiny little shoot growing elsewhere in the garden so have been nurturing and protecting it till it gets a wee bit bigger!

Well, I started with three this spring Scottish, but sadly, one has disappeared. It just got swamped by other plants I'm ashamed to say! At least two have made it, but this one is being pushed around by a hemerocallis now!

I have lost a few of the more 'expensive/exclusive' geraniums over the years, they seem to be quite tempramental. This one is planted in a spot where I can keep an eye on it....not wasting any more money Lol

Do you find that keeping a good eye on em stops em dyin then Annie? I can't say it works much for me! :))

I'm having a terrible time with Geranium 'Patricia' - she is just not playing...........at all!!! However, I will persevere.

2 Jul, 2011

Definitely worth persevering with Scottish, I don't have it, but isn't it pretty!

3 Jul, 2011

I mean I can move it Karen if it's not looking too good Lol!
I lost Patricia within weeks of buying it.

3 Jul, 2011

patricia must be a bit tricky then. I think I'll give it a miss.

Haven't lost her yet Annella - a few leaves and a couple coming through....was meaning to lift her and put her in a pot today but got engrossed in my mini makeover!!
If successfull I will try harvest some seed for you Karensusan - I'm sure you could squeeze in a wee geranium ;)

Another pretty HG.......just bought Patricia, I hope she isnt a difficult lass?

Keep me informed on how your Patricia goes DD mines not doing well at all. 2 large leaves and 2 little ones. I need to move her and see if she improves.

Scottish I bought her on ebay in 9cm pot, OH always pots them on and then when they become almost pot bound we put them in the borders, have lost too many plants, especially small ones by planting them straight away......of course if they are in large pots and well established they do go straight in then...

Thanks for the tip DD, will keep this in mind for future, especially if I buy smaller plants.
