Mine is looking quite good too.
Probably a younger plant than yours, but lots of buds.:o)

Mine is eleven years old now (just checked, planted August 1997). It gets a hard prune and tying in immediately after flowering, also a general feed in spring

My baby one - planted nearly a year ago - has lots of buds, too!

Now there is a small tree I would have if I had the space....very lovely Andrew.

Janey ~
My Garrya is trained up a fence by the dog run.
You can keep the bush quite small.
It's a lovely addition to a garden. :o)

Oh, that sounds a good idea TT, I have plenty of wall space.

Janey - mine is wall-trained as well. It wants a shady but sheltered position. Mine is on an east-facing wall but shaded by a flowering crab; a north-facing aspect would be suitable as well

Andrewr ~
Mine is facing south and gets sun (when there is any) most of the day !
Seems to be doing fine though. Is there a reason shade is recommended?

TT - in its native habitat, it grows in woodland or scrub - I guess that's why shade is recommended. But as you point out, we probably don't get enough sun to do it any harm!
