Bowles Mauve

By Adoons

Bowles Mauve (Erysimum bicolor (Bowles' perennial wallflower))

I had these for 7 years, finally pulled them as they got so big and so much work, shaving all flowers off.

Love your view, Adoons! Is this one of the islands between Vancouver and Vancouver Island?? Looks beautiful. :)

Yes Sheilabub, it is close to Victoria, & we can see Vancouver city lights at night from our deck. Lovely little island, really is.

Have you always lived there, Adoons? OH and I fulfilled a long-held wish to visit Vancouver and Vancouver Island about ten years ago, and the ferry ride from one to the other in and out of your islands was a highlight. We must do it again!

Sheilabub, we have lived on Gabriola now 12 yr. since retirement. Our nearest city 18min. by ferry, that runs on the hour, so we love it. Crime is almost non existent here.
We have a nice golf course, very narrow cycling paths, but we survive, & a very artsy community.

Gardening is huge here as well. You let me know if ever you come back here.

Thank you! I definitely will . . . it sounds dreamy. :)

It is so lovely, we love it, but as U can imagine small communities can be very nosy & bossy, so we stay "out of the way" garden, golf etc.

What else?

See who else is growing Erysimum bicolor (Bowles' perennial wallflower).

See who else has plants in genus Erysimum.
