This looks very simular to a passion flower I have that has just flowered if you are interested its called Lavender Lady its leaves go backwards like this before opening out a bit darker colour though. Is this a bulb?

passion flower? i assume you mean colour? no they are not bulbs, they are perennial plants, i had to get one after seeing all the lovely pic's of them on here... i think they look more like cyclamen, to be honest Morgana.

will do, thanks for the reminder..have you ever grown them from seed... i have loads of seeds and acording to my books should be easy.... but then they have never seen my efforts of seed sowing... lol

Been bought one as a prezzy by my youngest son who was showing his old mini at Newby Hall. They also had a plant fair there. Whereabouts can you plant them, and do they spread? Thanks.
