Dendromecon rigida - 2018

Dendromecon rigida - 2018 (Dendromecon rigida)

The tree poppy is neither a tree nor a poppy. It's a native of California but can be grown in milder parts of the UK in full sun and well drained soil, preferably against a wall. Grows to nine feet in the wild, so allow plenty of room. Mine grew to six feet, then all the top growth died, but it is slowly regenerating from the root.
