like these dawn are they on a plant or bush, seems big,, just looked and thought it was,, an arichoke, we saw lots of these when in cyprus

Its a plant Sandra, I didnt set it until late summer so its still only about a foot high now. Hopefully next year it will be huge.

Yes, Sandra, artichoke thistle - I've never had one before so dont know much about them. The leaves keep breaking in the wind though :-(

I remember my dad growing asparagus ..... we never ate it but when it went to seed with its lovely fern like leaves and red berries it was great for flower arranging.

I think these are fasinateing plants this is lovely. My mother grew asparagus and ate it too lol it does make a lovely fern.

Snap Dawn .. I put mine in late as well , it looks the same as yours , I don't think it will flower this late do you ?
They are not very nice to eat , the Artichoke is better ....

I can't believe that you didn't eat the Asparagus Dawn...... Yummy ....

Amy: I was surprised it has flowered too but I wont be eating it then, lol.
My mum never did anything with the asparagus, unfortunately.

Lovely, arent they Arlene - its very brittle though :-( I've just posted a pic that you may be interested in :)
