It is my understanding that it is Colchicums (often called Autumn crocus) that are poisonous they belong to the Lilaceae family and are not related to the autumn crocus you show in your picture they would be toxic if you ate a lot.
The paragraph below I copied on line
Colchicum.
principally as a local anesthetic, it contains unstable alkaloid poisons. If enough flowers, seeds, corms, or leaves are eaten, death may result. All animals are susceptible to colchicine, the primary toxin.f the corms but otherwise not a problem

Thank you Brian. Maybe I should have titled it A Crocus that flowers in Autumn. Even the Saffron Crocus (crocus sativus)is toxic, if 20 g were eaten. You'd probably die of heart failure at the COST of buying that amount, Lol.
