Brighamia insignis - Alula, Hawaiian Palm

This plant is extremely endangered in Hawaii and is called commonly, Hawaiian Palm. It is not a palm however. These plants are flowering right now. Picture was taken at the San Diego Zoo yesterday.

Yes...however, I think they only bloom once a year.
They are extremely endangered in Hawaii, with only 65 known native plants.
The moth that pollinated this plant is extinct now...the only way they can be pollinated is my hand.
I have seen this plant for sale this past Summer...they are being sold to earn money to save these Hawaiian native plants from extinction.
