Greenfinches

We had no greenfinches on the feeders. First there was one. Then he told his friends and they all came round and saw off the sparrows for a while. Now there are more Sparrows and a few Greenfinches.

good news about the sparrows. They seem to be disappearing from a lot of places - time was, they were the most common garden bird, but I can't remember the last time that I saw one - or at least recognised a bird as being a sparrow!
