leylandi

leylandi

hi all, leylandi, the curse of my garden. i asked my local council if they had a department which dealt with cutting down of such trees. did i plant them they asked, yes i said. then it is your problem they said. but if i was willing to pay £400, then they would cut them down for me. for £400 i said i will cut them down myself. well i started when her in doors went shopping, there i was 40ft in the air when my neighbour spotted me and rang the wife. who rang my son who arrived just before the wife and gave me a good rollicking, then her in doors arrived, i wont tell you what she said,(i dont want to be thrown off this site.) suffice to say my ears are still getting over the damage done. ah well, at least she is still talking to me. oh! yes the leylandi had 20ft cut off the top by my son and three of his mates. regards; scousemonk. Is the "monk" part of your name short for monkey? Well at least you got the job done, someone else finished it and you still have £400 in your pocket

I take it your wife likes the trees. How strange ! I would have thought she'd be glad to get rid of them.

i dont think i will going up there again. i dont think my ears could take the strain of her in doors. regards; scousemonk.(john.)

hi Mageth. i think my grandchildren would say more like an oragutan.
yes job done saving £400. scousemonk became a nick-name from work, i was the only scouse electrician who never drank after work, so the lads called me a monk and it stuck for 11yrs. regards scousemonk.(john)
