It's going to be fantastic. I can bypass the two weeks of hauling it all out and hauling it all in to harden off. :-) YIPPIE!

Your Toms are at a more advanced stage than I have here in Wiltshire! Grown from seed? TOG

Thanks Mike. :-)

TOG, I pick my tomatoes up from the nursery as soon as it opens up. I get a wide variety to choose from and I must have them more advanced to even chance a crop. It gets too cold for them in mid August. I've little success starting seed at home in February and most at the nursery are specialties with short periods to fruit. The longest of these two types to fruit is 50 days. I'll have tomatoes end of June!

good planning needed up your way greenthumb ! do you know the names of the varieties that crop in 50 days ? I'm a keen veg grower myself, though luckily with a longer season than you !

Ive grown my tomatoes from seed, & i planted them in February, theyre doing well. cant plant them outside yet, still under plastic till may probably, I now feel lucky to have a British summer! never thought I'd say that! It's a national pastime to moan about the weather here.

I'll stop back in and check , Lil. I can't name them right off my head. I know many people's relative's in the states that ask to get seeds sent every year so they can get really early Toms. The seeds are developed here. And we have such a long winter to plan through. :-)

Beanie, I would have a hard time over there. I like chilly damp least of all climates. Though I plan to definately visit, I understand any moaning. :-) We have a pasttime to just not mention it, especially seasons that we aren't currently in. Say snow in summer and you've lost all your friends. :-) Our 24 hours sunlight really make s adifference though. Growing all day and night!
