North Island Kowhai, growing very well here in the South Island. MOTH grew these from seed.

Hi Michaella, Yes it is a Sophora Microphylla. (Commonly known in NZ by it's Maori name 'Kowhai'. There are many varieties, but not sure if this is 'Sun King' It could well be. Thanks :>) The only reason I think it may be another is the description of the Sophora Microphylla 'Sun King' says it has glossy leaves and ours does not :>).

You are right, my leaves are matt compare to yours, although the flowers are alike.
