Fritillaria stenanthera

Fritillaria stenanthera (Fritillaria stenanthera)

This is one of the plants I saw last year growing in the wild in Kazakhstan. It needs well-drained soil in full sun, shelter from winter wet and is beloved of slugs. If you look carefully, you can see I have planted it in a pot with copper tape around the top. I have also cut the bottom off the pot for drainage and, for winter, will lift the whole thing and put it in the greenhouse for shelter. I bought this at the RHS Show earlier this week

That wallet took a bashing last month, didn't it? Worth it for results like this.
