Polyanthus Rock

Since I can't garden outside yet I've started on a few flower rocks.

That's so cheerful for this time of year. Brilliant. Could do with a few of those round my garden to cheer it up.

Very pretty rock :o)

Sigh - they are lovely. Would the paint wash off in the garden? Are they 'indoor' stones?

Wonderful one Gillian. Looks great! Exciting colors.

Gillian ~
How long does it take to paint a stone ?
Do you need to do the different colours at different times ?

Thanks all! They are sprayed with a waterproof matte varnish and are intended for outdoors, but I usually bring mine in for the winter.
They can take several days as there are many different layers to be added and each needs to dry before I can work on the next. Also depends what painting time I can squeeze in on any particular day, so there are a couple on my table in the kitchen I've been working on now and then for the past week.

maybe you could do a blog Gillian to show us how its done,
might be fun to see how we get on

On my rock group I posted a series of pictures showing owls in various stages, maybe I'll start with those on a blog then next time I do a flower I'll take pictures of the stages of that too. It's easy, anyone could do it!

Oh yeah? What you mean is - anyone with talent could do it!

Very pretty Gillian, would love to be able to paint like that!

I agree with Spritzhenry, when someone has talent which you obviously do, it's easy, as for me I'm envious. Carry on the good work.

Many thanks for all your kind comments! I still believe that anybody could do it though.

OMG Gillian you are so talented... this is fantastic....don't believe 'anybody could do it' I certainly couldn't!!! Mine would look like my 5 year old grandaughters efforts, sweet but basic.
