It is about 40 years old - hence the height. But I can't remember being without it. It's right beside our Magnolia which is 50 years old this year!

Will we see some pics of the Magnolia tree, Magnoliatree (that was funny typing that!) in the Spring?

Oh Yes, Janey. It's absolutely gorgeous. However, we planted it 50 years ago before we knew anything at all about gardening. It faces direct North and if March "comes in like a lion" it can get a bit battered. Shall try to photograph it at the right moment (and hope for reasonable weather). Perhaps it would be easier if you called me Shirley - it might stop you getting deja vu!! Thanks to everyone for their nice comments.
