The beautiful La Jolla Cove, San Diego, CA. There are many caves below the cliffs. There were many swimmers and Kyaks in the calm waters. You would never find me out in this water at this time of the year...the water is cold!!! Even though the air temp. was very warm.

some people over here go swimming in the sea all year round. theres a lady in the village whos in her 60s who swims every day. at christmas there is a mad tradition of a boxingday swim.....hundreds of people dress up in silly costumes and all run into the water together...they dont stay in there long.thousands of pounds are raised for charity.

they do that here in Dublin too Sandra at a place called the 40 foot.
it was nearly stopped this christmas by health and safety people, but everyone just ignored them and went in lol

i'm not that brave...i only go in the sea july-september...i do enjoy watching the nutters tho.. :-)

They do that in Vancouver too. Its called the Polar Bear swim.
