I hadn't heard the term Johnny Jump Ups before joining GoY.
Is that phrase used often for these in your part of the world. ?

I couldn't say accurately about that Terratoonie but most people I know call this particular lot Johnny Jump-Ups. Hopefully that answers your question somewhat.

I remember these as weeds in the gardens years ago. You don't see them often now.
I always left them alone because I like them.

I find that any garden bed that has had pansies or viola's in them eventually get these coming up in them but like you Hywel I leave them in because I like them.
