Changing Fall Foliage at Roper Lake

Changing Fall Foliage at Roper Lake

39 family members spent Thanksgiving in some cabins at Roper Lake. We got rain on Thanksgiving day for the first time in 30 years. The storm clouds and foliage color was pretty with the mountains in the background. Weather was fairly mild in spite of the rain.

Pleased to know it all went well. :o)

Actually that was a small family gathering for us. When all my brothers and sisters and their families gather, we have a group of about 120. That's how many family members showed up for my Mom's 90th birthday celebration.

I didn't know AZ had lakes.

Arizona has several lakes. Lake pleasant, San Carlos, Apache lake, Roosevelt lake, Woods Canyon Lake, Sahuaro Lake, Lake Havasu, Lake Powell: Those are just the ones off the top of my head. I'm sure I have missed a few.

"I'm sure I have missed a few."

Skippy, I have driven through that state many a time. Never saw one. Until I see a picture, I will remain doubtful.

I would never doubt anything Skippy tells me. :o)

Terratoonie, there is always the first time.

Saguaro lake. That would be one prickly pain in the trunks. I want a google placement link for this lake.

Skippy, bless her trusting heart has never doubted that we have cacti in the Pacific Northwet. I am still begging her for a Saquaro picture. The only one I might have, was one made of recycled green beer bottles glued togther to make a Sequim Saguaro.

That was long ago, and the new owners didn't appreciate the ten foot lawn ornament. I rather liked it.

If you go to the following site, you can view that lake as well as all the ones I named and many that I didn't name:

I did find it. Not bad.

I hope you know I was riding you. Arizona has fantastic FORESTS and lakes much aside the desert land which most consider it to be like. As for birds. Eat your heart out. Hummingbird heaven, Trojon and so much more.

I am sort of glad I did not help my friend Samaya move back. I doubt I would have returned.

Wow..., what a fantastic view of the mountain range, it would be hard to keep my eyes on the road, where they need to be....:-)
