What is the wee bit of red in the picture?

It's the neighbours flag, Skippy! He flies them on his shed to keep birds and pigeons away! (real patriot)

I'm not hoping to get any snow but quite a lot of people in the UK got some this week! But you will get a lot more I suppose?

Yes Celandine...they are forecasting temps back up into the teens in the coming week...this will probably all go away...but by early December the snow will start to accumulate...last winter we received a lot of snow late in the season....we had 59 inches of the stuff at the end of March!! (that's just shy of five feet!!) ARGH!!! dreadful.

Wow, you really get dumped on sometimes. Hard to deal with that much snow at once.

I guess because of a previous comment this may sound like I'm contradicting myself...buy you know, GT, I'd take a snowy winter every time...because the alternative~..the serious bone cracking cold is too hard on oldsters like me. lol....and after giving it some second thought...perhaps what I need is some tropical heat...just for variety...lol.

I lived down on the coast and we'd get 50-60 inches often and it was so damp and heavy. I don't really like the bone chill in that damp. I like a good dry ultra frozen much more. :-) I like my heat more in the desert away from humidity as well, though a good tropical setting is always greener. :-)

You mention the desert, GT...I've never experienced dry heat...we always suffer with humidity here too... like taking a bath with your clothes on...it seems dry extremes are better than wet ones!! want to see palm trees growing.
