Codiaeum variegatum - Croton at San Diego Zoo

Codiaeum variegatum - Croton at San Diego Zoo (Codiaeum variegatum - Croton)

Crotons are usually grown in full sun in the hot, very humid tropics, here they need to be grown in semi-shade or they will burn. The tallest I've ever seen them grown here is only 4 or 5 feet tall. These plants are extremely tender to cold weather. They don't even like extended cool weather.(cool-weather wimps) LOL.

They certainly wouldn't like the October snows in England today. Lol.
