Before patio and planting

This was the area before works began. All existing plants here were dug out and replanted elsewhere in the grounds. This was hard work!! Lily of the Valley had very kindly spread itself all over the bed too, so very careful digging had to be done to try to ensure it will not infiltrate again! Along with some other very lovely ( !! ) invasive nasties ! The bed was dug numerous times before patio construction and after! Grit has been dug into the soil, particulary with planting the lavenders for better drainage, compost, organic chicken pellets and rose compost and feed. So, cross fingers, all will be well !
