And I'm sure my mind is going. I dug out another tatty evening primrose to find a Red Star Cordyline that I don't remember planting behind it. I knew the Persicaria Red Dragon was there but didn't realise how big it had got. Now that the garden is maturing I really must get rid of the primroses. They have served their purpose for 3 years.

I hope you DON'T get rid of the primroses. They look much better than that spikey thing in the photo. And they're a native species too.

Hywel. These are EVENING primroses, you know, a metre or a metre and a half tall. Self seed like storm troopers, from the mississippi/missouri area of the States. Used purely for filling in with yellow, rather stinky, flowers that grow whilst you are blinking. There is no way I would get rid of our own little sweet primrose. Please go through my pictures. And I like that red spiky thing. It goes with what I have got. LoL.

Sorry. Sometimes there are so many photos I read the info quickly to fit them all into the time I have.
I agree about the Eveving Primroses but I still don't like the Cordyline. I've got something simmilar and it's big and ugly. We can't always agree with everyone.
( I hope I haven't offended you. )

Hywel. At last someone agrees with me (actually I think a lot of people do) that there are no total answers in gardening. I love my cordies both red and green and striped. They go well with my style of garden. Unfortunately it only looks impressive when all the plants are large - and I dislike buying large plants, putting them in the soil and saying 'Hey. Look at me. I am a gardener. ' Great for a picture. But are you a gardener?

Hi Dee. We's bestest friends anyway. I'll try to get you a cutting off the persicaria next year but can't guarantee it. But you know me. Stinking rich but likes being cheap. LoL. Yes the primroses are huge. I really must get rid of them. Well maybe I'll keep just a couple if I can dig that fast.

Forgetting the cordy? I'm getting old and more crotchety by the hour.

If you want some 'Bower of Beauty' seed (pandorea jasminoides) then let me know. That is also true of anybody else who is bothering to read this. Be interesting to see if people actually read things on GoY. I can supply propagation instructions if anybody wants it. PS it is only half hardy unless you are a genius like me LoL.

Dee. You know I never keep peoples' addresses (I think it's illegal anyway). So if you want some Pandorea jasminoides seed then I'm afraid you will have to PM me your address again. That is also true of anyone else who wants some. I think you will vouch for the fact that I am totally harmless. LoL. Yes do put up your pic.

Hi Sarraceniac,
I hope you don't think I'm just ignoring what you have to say but I don't usually read personal dialogues between two people. I don't have the time to read everything everyone writes to each other, - and anyway I'm not nosey enough to want to know the details of everyone's conversations.

I think if you want to make sure people read what you want to tell them it's better to put it in a blog or a question.
I'm sure there's a page with names of people who have seeds to swap or give. You could mention your seeds on there.

I dare say there must be some who read every single word that everyone writes in all the comments. Do you do that ? Personally I don't have enough time.
All the best, H.

I certainly don't read every word of every topic Hywel. I just skim through at first and see what interests me so if you really want to catch my attention with a public topic then you must title it 'I am giving money away' or similar. I tend just to chat in any thread that I am in at the time. Probably shows an undisciplined mind but I spent about 40 years having to be totally organised and wear a suit and tie. Since retirement I just like to not have to worry about whether something is 100% right. I am now so laid back I am verging on the horizontal. I joke a lot (that gets me in trouble), socialise a lot, don't offend easily, drink a little and can't abide smoking. I even admit now that I'm not right 100% of the time, only about 99%. That's me in a nut shell. A nut.

John.
