Strelitzia nicolai - Giant Bird of Paradise

As you probably noticed you can see this plant in the background of almost all my pictures. They are so widely planted throughout most lower elevations of California. They can grow to 30 feet tall and are extremely drought-tolerant. These plants are not blooming yet though.

They have blue and white and black bract type flowers. They are not as showy as Strelitzia reginae.
