Before I saw what you had written, I said wow that looks just like how the Vegetable gardens are laid out in France, and lo and behold it is...
Every plot large or small is the same, with so much attention to detail, and not a weed in sight...also if there is room; there are usually Dahlia or Roses at the end of some rows...If I can get the opportunity, I will take a photo of my neighbours Vegetable Garden...which includes flowers too...The french feed the whole family with Vegetables and friends also, and the neighbours...
: )) No piece of ground lays idle...
Thanks for posting it...

Crissue there were roses planted at the bottom of the rows, and there was a fantastic fruit garden with grapes espalier style all around the soft fruit area, magical, OH and I love France how lovely for you to be living over there.

Our first House was an old Farmhouse which we renovated, we also had half acre of land, the front we landscaped around a huge lawn, which we laid from seed, the rear was fruit and vegetables, and a gorgeous Vine that produced wonderful grapes...Sadly after my accident I couldn't manage stairs anymore, hence our Bungalow...and too my horror the young french couple that bought our house, ripped the front garden up including our beautiful pond complete with Koi and Goldfish, after saying they would love to keep the pond, they sold the fish and accessories, and filled it in...The Husband is a Hunter, and they cleared almost all our beautiful old oaks to make room for a purpose built building to house approx 30 hunting dogs...It was heartbreaking...I was so glad that I took as many shrubs and perennials that I could, some came with us to France from the I.O.W....The only part that survived was an original courtyard that we restored, it took us so long, and then built raised beds of Tuffeau Stone in which I had all my beautiful Strawberry plants, from which the yield was enough to make Jam...The Courtyard formed the original entrance for the cows to come through to their Barns...Wonderful memories, sad ones too...
We still live in the same Village been here since 2002...x
