It is just a reservoir under the grate and stones, Hywell. in the interests of conserving energy I've disconnected the fountain pump. I think I need some more interesting stone or perhaps riverstone to make it look more natural. What do you think?

Oh sorry, I thought maybe it had dried up because of a drought.
Of course if I'd used my eyes and looked properly I'd have seen what it was. lol
I don't want to sound insulting but those stones do look a bit of a jumble don't they. ( Sorry again - I don't mean it in a nasty way. ) Yes I agree maybe river stone would be more suitable. You need something that will look nice with water flowing over it.
