Worth the wait, aye? what do the leaves look like? Are they heart shaped or is the variegated leaf (ten o'clock high) beside the blossom one of the MG leaves?

Yes lori, that's the jap. morning glory leaf. That's one of it's strong points, but it will reseed some plants the following year with a solid leaf. A ratio of about 75% will reseed with variegation.
