Thank you! Fortunately in the photo you can't see the weeds lurking! The bane of our lives is perennial ground elder - vicious stuff that's virtually indestructible! Even a half an inch of root left behind will grow and the roots are all heading for Australia, so it's very difficult to get them all, especially in an established border!

Lovely border. :-) Sorry to hear that you have the dreaded Ground Elder. In a border, weeds like that are SOOOO difficult, aren't they! Could you use a trick I read about - mix some wallpaper paste and add some systemic weedkiller to it. Brush it on to the G.E.leaves and then there's no danger to your other plants.

I like the idea of mixing the weedkiller with wallpaper paste - I've tried without and it does no good! That way the poison ought to stick to the right plant!
