Ah, this Salvia is the one that Nick Bailey (Gardeners World) says he always plants as it is such a good performer.

I am tempted to buy one after seeing yours, it does look perfect.

Thanks Shirley, ah yes I like Nick Bailey, a couple of them were 9cm pots and they have grown as well as the 2 larger ones I bought, I have had them before but moved them and they seemed to not do so well and disappeared, also I had a split off one years ago which i gave my mom that grew well too so will be looking out for those

Daylily, I treated myself to one of these Salvias this morning. As we drove into the car park I saw some of the flower beds were planted with them, many covered in Bees.
I am really working hard to have pollinator friendly plants.

Ah lovely Shirley hope it does well for you, I'm thinking about pollinators too :-))

I sat for half an hour just watching where the Bees were going, their favourites here were a white Hebe, Geum 'Totally Tangerine', yellow Welsh Poppies and a Geranium Magnificum.

Ah yes Shirley I've seen them on the geranium magnificum, salvias, aruncus, think they liked the choisya flowers and weigela too but not watched so closely yet, not sure about the penstemon :-))

Did you se the Bees article on Gardeners World, broadcast last Friday, where a wildlife cameraman filmed the Bees in his garden?
I thought it was the best part of that episode!

Yes Shirley the gentleman was brilliant, wasn't he?!

Sheila, he was so genuine in his fascination with the Bees and was so knowledgeable about them.

Ah no I haven't watched it yet, I saw a bee go in the penstemon though yesterday 😀 and round the geums :-))
