Ange, I just hope the critters don't!! There are nibbles in some of the other Hostas but I'm blowed if I can find any of them ... :o(

Love this Shirley. The markings are quite special!

Thanks Karen. This morning at 8am I saw a couple of slugs slithering across the garden path and as it's brown bin day today, I went out to put them in a bucket and, honestly, I looked on the lawn and the borders and found twenty six of them ! Rained overnight so the little devils decided to come out ... :o((

Yeah..we had heavy rain yesterday and overnight too. Still no sign of any slugs. They are on their way though.

I hope they stay away from your garden, Karen, I have now lost another two Sunflower plants so I shan't bother growing any from seed next year.

A particularly attractive Hosta Shirley...isn't it annoying with the slug etc attacks.I think the only resistant ones are Perlagoniums and the Curry plants.I have planted out 2 of the Alstromerias and waiting with baited breath.

It's lovely Shirley and not a nibble in sight!
Lets hope it stays like that!

Julia, they leave Geums and Penstemons alone so I'm thankful for that!

Fingers crossed Rose ... :o)

Love this one Shirley, how I wish I could have them here, it's not worth it, this being Snail Cottage!

Oh, that's a shame for you. It's about 10am and I just looked at the Hosta , annoyingly the critters have started munching on one in a big pot. I shall now be searching for the nasties ...:o((

You will. I bought some really pretty violas and munch chew munch, so the dreaded pellets have gone down.
Red lily beetle on the lilies!
We're just paying out to feed the enemy!
Time for action, no more spending on floppy frilly juicy things they love!

I am boiling garlic as I type ladies!

Oh Janey, it is so disheartening to look around the garden and see silver trails on stems and foliage. I am so glad they dislike Welsh Poppies, Roses, Grasses, Hydrangeas too, at least I do have some plants safe from the critters!

Well done Karen ... that should deter them!

Thanks Shirley. I’ll also spray the roses as it deters aphids too and prevents mildew!

Karen, I was up early this morning and sat watching a pair of Great Tits feeding on the Greenfly on the Grapevine and the Roses ... they are most welcome to fly in every day!

Just gorgeous! I took mine put last year, with much reticence sadly. They were all so badly nibbled.
A patient uses stainless steel scourers. Unravels them and puts them around the most affected plants - works wonders. They don't like having to cross over them.

Kate, I tried that after you wrote about the wire wool scrubby thingies! Clearly my slugs and snails are not fazed by it at all ... they have slithered over it, up the stems of the Sunflowers and I am now left with about three plants ...
:o(
