Here you see their badge which says what it is, but the symbol in the middle is also the symbol of Hungary, and the crown with the bent cross is the crown of King Saint Stephen who was the first King of Hungary. He is a Cathollic saint and it is St Stephens day tomorrow. There are great festivities in Budapest culminating with a massive firework display on the river Danube.

No it's not. The Hungarian St Stephen was the one who introduced Christianity to Hungary in the year 1,000. He was the king of Hungary, so he is King saint Stephen. Not many people are a king and a saint. The cross is crooked because the Hungarian crown was dropped several hundred years ago and they dare not repair it.

That's interesting, Chris. Is this the same St. Stephen whose 'Feast' is celebrated on Boxing Day, 26th December ? Why is the cross on the crown not upright ?
