OH's decision to have a red Dahlia.

I couldn't refuse, although I chose a deep orange with yellow, he opted for this.
Purchased at a national DIY store yesterday.
It's not as garish in reality, fortunately.

Lovely Dahlia Kate. I have a yellow one in the flowerbed that comes up every year.

I love reds and oranges for mid to late summer Kate. It is a lovely pop of colour.

It is a very rich red and really makes an impression.

Thanks Klahanie! I'm going to have a look at yours shortly 😊
OH is quite traditional in his garden likes, red being a tradition colour I guess.

Thank you, Ange. To be honest, anything garish is a godsend with the recent random weather we're having!

Thans, Julia! Yes. I agree, it's definitely made him cheerful! That and the fact he was granted permission to purchase!!! 😊

Aw thank you, Janey. I guess I'm a sunset colour type of person. Oddly, the garden has ended up more lilacs, pinks and mauve!!! Indoors more warmer colours. Think we mentioned this before! You and I in reverse.

Thank you, Chris. It was quite vivid by 3pm today when the heavens opened for a short sharp downpour. I'd been out for lunch with friends and luckily we missed it by minutes!
