Spot the cats.. Cookie settling well and enjoying the garden.
I look at the lush gardens on show here and try not to despair :-( I've forgotten what happy plants look like! And green grass..

I ‘liked’ for the cats really, Ange…Cookie looking pretty settled..and Maudie, well she’s keeping an eye on her new housemate..watchful eye indeed.
I think everyone is struggling with grass aren’t they..I’ve a few patches of dryness too. Think the lawns go into sleep mode during the heat.

Meadow, I've been thinking that if these lovely warm summers continue we'll need to think about changing to tropical planting. Most of the cottagey perennials have collapsed. I don't really care about the grass being green but I do care about the border plants.

Kate, Maudie has at least stopped swatting at Cookie. They circumnavigate each other carefully and have found different areas of the house to rest in! I'm pleased Cookie is enjoying the garden now.

It will recover, my grass is far worse. Im glad not to have to cut the grass, a chore I hate.

Grandsons came to stay so we have the dried up patches where their goal posts were! But, oh how I miss them! Looking around today everything looks a bit thirsty!

I have a 'collapsed' garden, W'rose! Very little in the perennial side is till upright..
Saw our grandchildren at the weekend, too, but on their territory!

if its any consolation the grass will recover once we get some rain. Our grass looks pretty much like yours.
Lots of my plants are looking a bit limp too.

Plants aren't the only things that are a bit limp at the moment, Sbg!

I take my stick with me at the moment and have the hose in the other hand and water first thing in the morning before my daughter arrives and chafes at me ! Haha!

Forgot to say that I love your cats! We had twins years ago in Willow Cottage, very similar to Cookie.
We still miss them!

That made me smile Ange. Even the pet gerbil is sitting in the cooling breeze of the fan. She rarely comes up from her under gound den during the day.

Where there's a will, Rose.. We do miss our old Dearly Beloveds, don't we? I miss Dora and Malkin a lot. Each cat has a different personality.

Imagine being a pet at the moment, Sbg, having to wear your fur coat in this heat. Lucky gerbil!
