Artichoke

Artichoke (Cynara scolymus)

I use an Artichoke as a decorative plant. They have purple thistle like flowers. To cook they take ages. Five good artichokes developing on this plant.

Takes up quite a lot of space though.

I have a plant too Siris, but yours is far more advanced than mine.

I let mine flower each year rather than cutting them for eating.

I don't eat our artichokes either Siris.

Such a waste of cooking time for a tiny end of edible veg.

See who else is growing Cynara scolymus.

See who else has plants in genus Cynara.
