There he is, little beauty!

A lovely little fellow! You are lucky to have them in your garden,Klahanie! Unfortunately we don't have them here in the UK.

But we do have pigeons! I've just come back in frow the balcony after shooing off a giant of a Wood pigeon from one of my hanging baskets!

This winter has been the worst in the 20 years we have lived in this flat for pigeon droppings fouling the balcony! They sit up on the railings of the 4th floor flat above us & they continuously drop into the balcony! It's repulsive & dangerous when they are wet from rain. They are terribly unsightly as well! Most days when it is dry I have to sweep them off the balcony otherwise I can't do a thing out there & as they also fall on my plants it means I have lost a whole row of plants that use to grow there in pots. I can no longer put them out any longer.

Lovely to see your hummingbirds Klahanie. We have blue-tits. starlings, robins, hedge sparrows, pigeons, wood pigeons, Thrush and blackbirds. The occasional sparrow-hawk and we see buzzards flying over and geese.

As you say, Klahnie, it's not a pleasant story!

We, too, get lots of seagulls around here - more especially when there's a eastern component to the wind. As we have north easterly winds this week the gulls flying overhead make you think you are at the seaside!
