What a lovely surprise coming mid summer Sandra. Mind you with the weather this week, it could be more Easter!..:-(

Thank you Kate,it was only quite small when I bought it in the 'reduced' corner for £1,so I can't really complain can I ? lol ..It has rewarded me well, for adopting it,it seems :o)
........
Lucky you,Rose. It gets shifted from one room to another,or sometimes it's outside, and it's said they shouldn't be moved once the flower buds are showing.. not this one,,it must have a mind of it's own ! Lol,although it is staying in this window now..:o)
Oh,and about the Ducks.. from a well known shop called 'The R...e? Gifts from my Grandsons.:o) I love them too.I have another on top of my Fridge :o)
.......
Thank you Julia,It was an unexpected surprise, seeing all those buds opening up this week,as the week before,I could only see a few. A lovely surprise though.:o)
........
Thank you Janey, and I totally agree with you,as it's been quite chilly today, but yesterday was lovely,so I got lots done in the garden :o) Not been outside to day, except to the Compost bin ! Exciting eh? Lol.x

Ha ha,Amy ,good idea ,thanks for the Christening Lol.It's such a nice change from the usual pink ones, isn't it? I don't think I've seen a red one before. The Ducks are keeping an eye on me,to see I don't move it again,as is the Robin in the pot ! Another little gift from my Grandsons :o) x

I hadn't noticed the cheeky Robin Sandra , lovely gifts from Thomas & Alfie they know what you like and an extra cuddle for them to xx

He is hiding,Amy,in case I decide to put him away till Christmas! lol..I think little hints to the boys at the appropriate times, help them decide what Grandma and Grandad like :o) Only thing is ,Russell never fails to get a box of Liquorice Allsorts ! Lol x

If its what he likes Sandra Tony would love them he's a Liquorice all sorts kid .. Do you remember Black Jacks ? I bought a packet last week ,it took me right back to school days ;o) x

It's very pretty Sandra, I also have some blooming now. I think 'Easter Cactus' is the wrong name for them - mine tend to flower whenever the mood takes them :D x

I think it's a favourite with a lot of people,Amy..not mine, although I like one or two of them..ooh,Blackjacks ,that's a blast from the past :o) I used to like the Sherbet yoy could buy in bags from Woolworths, and dipped in with your finger or a liquorice stick ,and Spangles .Lol. x

Thank you Hywel, I do love the colour..It looked such a weakly little plant when I bought it,so it needed some TLC..I agree about the name, but I guess it's what they are mostly known as,or Christmas Cactus..I might call mine 'June' instead.. :o) xx

28 Jun, 2021

That's a good name for it :) xx

28 Jun, 2021

June,it is then,Hywel :o) x

Sandra, that 'Christmas Cactus' is definitely 'Confused Dot Com' Lol. But who cares when it flowers? It's still beautiful and I love the colour.

28 Jun, 2021

Lol,Julia. It certainly seems so ! The colour was so unexpected,so a lovely surprise :o)

Beautiful colour Bloomer. I had a pink one that got out of hand so I took some cuttings, put them into compost in another pot and this year they've flowered from Christmas to Easter.

29 Jun, 2021

Thank you Linda, I might try that with mine .Do they root easily ? I've never taken cuttings of them before, but it would be worth a try..

Just make a cut slightly below a joint which should have two or three sections on, and put into the compost then water and just make sure they don't dry out but not to make them too wet. Space 2 inches apart in the pot. Hope this helps and have a go.....p.s. a clay pot is better if you have one

What a great bargain, well worth waiting two years for! I have only ever seen these in shades of pink or white so you could be on to a new variety Sandra!

30 Jun, 2021
