Like these very much. Have you had them long or are they recent? Just wondering how well they come back in following years?

Yorkslass, I did not plant them. They appear every year since we moved here 17 years ago (time flies) Deer like them and sometimes I put my stinky hot spray on them. Only the once I can see when walking around. They are some in deeper woods I leave for them. So to answer your question: yes they are hardy and will come every year. Our soil is pretty acidic and they have plenty of natural leaf mulch in fall.

I believe now they are Trillium ovatum. The T.grandiflorum is native to eastern part of the country.

Lovely to see Trilliums in there natural environment. They love leaf mould.

Thank you Siris. I think you grow some trilliums, right? The red one perhaps? These will redden later as the flower matures.

Yes Klahanie, I've bought 4 different over many years, they are expensive considering they are only small plants and need to grow on before getting them to flowering size.
T. erectum was my latest purchase, bare root, 2 years ago.

Thank you Siris for your confirmation. I do not always remember correctly or at all.
