So sweet Ange. Lovely and colourful. I have some violas to plant but haven't put them out yet as thought the slugs might be attracted to a feast !!!

Thank you, Paul and Janey. I think they're a large version (almost) of Heartsease, which I grew from seed some time ago. Just got to decide where to put them.

That's right, they are Ange. I used to have Heartsease popping up in my garden, in the cracks in the paving too, such a joy to see.
The name says it all too, a very old cottage garden viola.

I think the simple flowers like these heartsease and your primulas, Janey, have a real quiet beauty that I prefer.

My aunt uses these a lot for cake decorating.
