Mahonia aquifolium bloom close up

Mahonia aquifolium bloom close up

or Oregon grape as we call it here. Native in this region. It grows wild and it is invasive. It spreads by rhizomes . I have seen a hybrid from it which is probably more controllable. It also have some medicinal properties used by native Indians.

I think it’s a very interesting plant, Klahanie! It has very pretty little buds/flowers too. Thank you for the info, it’s definitely an all rounder.

Thank you for showing us the native plant. I think mine must be a selected cultivar, the flowers are much yellower.
