The orchids and the guardian

I used this existing tree to plant orchids. Most of them given by a friend. They were from her mother. When she was visiting us she was very happy to see the flowering orchids.

How wonderful to be able to grow orchids naturally like this. We can only do this with Marsh orchids and other hardy ones...and they are very tricky to grow in gardens.

Karen, not every orchid can be grown outside here, the frost can be very bad for the catleias. They don't resist to frost. I lost all mine :(

Looks fantastic, Aleyna. Great idea too. Interesting to know that not all orchids can be grown in your area..I thought you’d be able to grow them with no problems.

Thank you Kate, indoors you can grow the catleias, but outside it doesn't resist
