In summer the brook is babbling and clear, such a contrast.
3d this is our daughter’s Doberman, sadly we had to have Bonnie put to sleep in September, poor old girl made it to 15

So sorry that is very sad to hear that news Dawn I bet Bonnie is dearly missed its like losing your best friend . At least she had a good home and lived to a good age . Did you get another dog?

Very sad 3d, she’d been struggling for a while. No more dogs for me, too emotional.

Awe bless her thats the trouble with big dogs normally it's their back legs that go . Yes Dawn it must of been heart breaking for you I can understand you not getting another dog.

She had terrible arthritis, I was helping her to get up the step into the house for a long time, poor old Bonnie.

Oh, Dawn, bless. I agree with you it’s very distressing when pets are struggling with pain and old age. They can’t really relay how they are or what they need can they.
Tug at the heartstrings don’t they. At least she’s not in any pain now, bet she had a lovely life with you over the years!
My parents didn’t get another dog when Sam the border collie passed, as you say, it’s much to distressing and emotional.

Lovely pic of your daughter’s dog, the brook looks quite dramatic there.

How awful she must of been in great pain Dawn so sad.

The cat ai use to call bench cat as it always sat on my bench it belonged to a neighbours across the way it use to come in my garden and stay most of the time I found her sleeping in a hanging basket she could nt climb the fence to go back home nor get on the bench where I always looked for her I wondered why she was nt on the bench any more as she was dragging her back legs her back had gone through arthritis I had to ask the lady neighbour to come and fetch her cat the next day as it managed to drag itself it to my kitchen one late evening from the basket which I did give her some where to sleep also a drink and fed her over night .
Our weather is a curse on them and us with the damp and cold.

Bonnie was really good, she never showed signs of discomfort, she was on joint tablets. Oh dear your poor neighbourhood cat :-(. I still have my Rox cat,I can’t have more pets, too emotional for me.

That's good she did nt show discomfort Dawn with the tablets helping her.

Yes she had it for 15 years it was just a kutten when it first came in my garden the other male cat she has still comes in my kitchen looking for her .

Glad to hear you ve still got Rox the cat I have nt had a pet for years as I could nt look after them now and would be unfair to it . I understand when it's so upsetting when they go.

The spring rush is so invigorating! all that water going somewhere very quickly. I hear my brook bubbling along under horrid snowbanks. I'm worried about my little Rhy running over the melting banks and falling in, so I take him on a lead until the snow is gone. I have Rhy (Yorkie), Rufus, (Norwegian), and my little budgie, Georgie. It is so hard to lose them but while they're with us they bring such joy. Rhy was a rescue...I think he's 2-1/2, Rufus is 8, and Georgie is 14. I can't wait for the snow to go..I have such plans!

really, Karen? glad somebody's warm. Hi Dawn, my stream is blasting along... no flooding this year, thankfully. I was out pickup up deadfalls in the woods and under the leaves the soil is still solid. It started to pelt down a mix of snow and ice. not optimistic about the coming gardening season.. it's starting out like the last 4... cold and blustery right into late May. blossoms, buds and shoots getting nipped back. Glad you're having some nice weather. will have to log in more often to see all the lovely spring flowers in E. I. S. and W.

ho ho ho....not warm Lori. Just very dry and very windy. I am having to water my pots every day and the grass is bone dry. But nothing is growing much because it's too cold! So....we're in this together! lol!
