Wrens Nest?

Wrens Nest?

I was going to throw out this basket work pot, but stuffed it into the trellis by the side fence, that's because I cut down their favourite shrub. I think male Wrens make several nests hoping a female might chose one in which to raise a family.

I hope you're right Sue ,it would be lovely for you to have a little family using the pot :o)

We sometimes see a Wren in the garden, also a nest in a sprawley Clematis, but I've cut it down drastically earlier.

You are right, the males often make up to 6 nests. when she selects the one he then lines it with moss and feathers.

that is a lovely sight.

I have wrens and robins nesting in the same shrub. Hope there's no arguments later in the spring

It's the Blackbirds that cause the arguments in my garden, Andrew.

Oh, fingers crossed for you, Siris.

Kate, I think this nest is too exposed, they like a tangle of vegetation.

Sadly, you’re probably right. We had a pair nesting in our juniper tree the other summer. We were very fortunate.

HOW LOVELY TO SEE THAT. WE HAVE STARTED TO SEE A WREN IN THE GARDEN AND IT WAS PECKING AWAY AT THE MOSS THAT HAS GROWN AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SHED.

That's great Linda, obviously a male making a nest to entice a female.
