Dennis ( the menace ) has arrived.

Dennis ( the menace ) has arrived.

Just to say that I hope you are all safe and sound as the storm swirls around us.
Here it has flattened the daffodils so far and there is a threatening puddle by our porch but if that is it, I will not be complaining.
Hope that ALL is well.

We also have a wide pool of water as we step out of the back door.

Thank you Wildrose just read the weather and it's with us for 4 days instead of just the week end let's hope we are nt swimming out our homes . I have slabs outside my back door so no pools of water shattering. I just hope the canal by me does nt over flow.

I do feel so sorry for the people in Crickhowel and Nantgarw...especially those with businesses. Here we are lucky to be at a higher level despite being between the rivers Wye and Severn.

Up to now Chris, no more damage ! We are quite lucky here on the east coast though. I feel so sorry for people in other areas.

It is all very disturbing and seeing the suffering it is causing is really awful.
I hope that brighter, calmer days will follow for everybody.

I lived in Hereford at one point I still have family there ,I'm told my late brothers house is under water all the roads are cut off my sister in law can't get out also my nieces son's office is under water , My Neice is due to fly to Mexico today but is finding it difficult to get a road out .. it's a dreadful business ...

It is just awful to see the extent of the flooding and the suffering that it has caused. If only the rain would ease off for a while.

Amy it must be so worrying for you to hear of the problems it has caused for your family. I hope things improve for them sooner rather than later.

I hope so to Chris , I remember the last time it was as bad as this in Hereford I was at school ,we loved it because we couldn't get to school . silly kids ,we didn't know the seriousness of it , must have been about 1958 , they have made a lot of improvements since then to the flood defences but obviously still not enough for the huge quantities of water raging through ..

If I watch one more weather forecast filled with doom and gloom, I shall scream!
It will be a massive relief when the rain eases off. Many changes will have to take place to protect people from such destructive flooding, let's hope it can be done.
