My Living Fence

My Living Fence (Pyracantha)

My Yellow Berried Pyracantha was covered in bees. In Autumn the birds leave the yellow berries till after they've stripped my other Pyracantha of their red berries.

What a perfect example! How do you get it so dense?

It's been there a long time, and I clip off the straggly bits and tie in the long shoots. We extended the fence upwards to mask next door's shed roof, another one!

Yes Shirley, I've red beetles, Lily beetles on my Lilies!

Siris, that's why I no longer grow Lilies, dratted critters!

I gave up on Lilies, several years ago, but forgot what a nuisance/mess those Beetles make, and have got more now.

More Lilies or more Beetles or both?!!!

By choice more Lilies, and hence more Beetles. They used to attack my Fritillaries, but left those in preference to the Lilies.
