Rosa 'Edward Hyams' - 2017

On my visits to Kazakhstan, I saw rosa persica growing in desert conditions:(http://www.growsonyou.com/AndrewR/blog/24230-kazakhstan-revisited-5-old-friends)
The plant is not sold in the UK as our summers are not hot enough to trigger the flowers, but 'Edward Hyams' is similar enough to give the same effect. The botanists reclassified both these as hulthemias a few years ago, but I see they are back under roses again now.

That's a cracker. Looks like it has bristly thorns. They are the worst, find them stuck in your fingers days after working on these species.

Yes, it is a bristly character. I planted it bare root in November eighteen months ago, and last year it grew well but had no flowers, so I was pleased to discover lots of buds on it this year.
