Arum Italicum

As I was watering the garden this evening found this. Had seen the leaves last year but was so overgrown around it, never saw this.

Thank you. Did some reading up on them last night. They are also known as Lords and Ladies. The centre bit then be covered in orange berries.

Ahrr yes I think its the berries are deadly poison if I remember right but then all plants are poison.

As you say a lot of plants are poisonous. I was reading about Hellebores. It said the they used to be known as "child killer" due to long ago parents would give them to children to kill any worms but more offened then not gave them too much.

How interesting I knew you can have an allergic reaction to Hellebores.

Just checking your plants out Jen it is the same as mine isn't it .. as you say on my photo your animals in the fields may be disguising the smell ... Ha ha ...

Amy, as said I thought about how ripe air does get around here at times after I said I didn't smell it. I've got about 4 clumps in different places which I might have to think about getting rid of some or think just how much more ripe the air will be!!! :-).
