Actinidia kolomikta - 2017

Actinidia kolomikta - 2017 (Actinidia kolomikta)

The biggest threat to this plant is cats who love to rub against it (in the same way as with cat mint). Protect the main stem with a cage of rigid wire mesh, especially when young.

Oh no, mine should look like this but I think after 20++ years mine has finally given up the ghost.
I have small buds at the ends of many stems but they look desiccated although the stems are still whippy and pliable. The main trunk is large and looks quite gnarly.

Sue - this is actually a climber - you often see it plastered against a wall.

Yes, Andrew, mine WAS twinning around fence trellis. It has today been through the shredder, although I have left the root and a small piece of the main stem. It is definitely a goner.

I have two ,one is against a wall the other on the side of a shed ,I can't say I've ever seen cats near them but then we have so many neighbours cats here they head straight for a nice newly dug up area to do their business which annoys us , I have several cuttings in pots they take quite easily ...
