They are very early aren't they? Love to see young birds. But I hate the Crows sitting on our flat roof and picking them off one by one.

Definitely they do. They sit on my roof and pick off the young sparrows as they emerge. Another good reason for us evicting the sparrows. My friend has a wild Duck that lays in her garden every year...12 or 13 ducklings. The Crows pick them off one by one as they head for the water.

Oh no, not sweet little ducklings. I would have thought too big for a crow. I learn something new each day.

I saw that happening to ducklings on the Scilly Isles but it was Herring gulls taking them, not crows. It's a wonder any survive isn't it? Nature is very brutal really.
