I make that about 40 different varieties so far, and more to come. You will get Iris indigestion, Gg.

I could think of worse lol

Six in comfort. I probably would have single different rhizomes much closer initially, but as they bulk up, you stand the risk of strong growers extending into weeker neighbours. Once lifted, it is not a good idea to replant Iris in the same spot, because of the possibility of disease and also a 'left behind old rhizome', becoming a 'new pretender'. I do not have the luxury of space, so I dig out a large quantity of the old soil and replenishing with new.
Ps air circulation around them is good so a narrow border would allow that free air flow.

thanks, I have the 5 arriving in July from France so will let them have the space ....

The ones you have chosen look super. I must admit to not buying the really expensive ones, as I would be devastated if a snail/slug ate them. My new Carnival Ride was done to death from my last year's order. What is the modern expression.... gutted! That is where it went down a gut.

you know what Siris I work hard and think .... thats the one I want, I done enough years scimping ..... and lack of space as well decides .... if I can only have one or two of something I will do the background research ...

all the iris in the front garden not one snail or slug in sight so much easier when its open plan as I have the pavement on one side and the lawn on the other its all open plan front gardens no one allowed to have a fence so very light and airy.....

the Iris you gave me looks like a blue or purple another few days should be open

I was looking again at whats arriving in July .... Prince Eugene looks stunning .....

The cost of Iris usually reflects their novelty, sometimes their difficulty in bulking up for sale. I love 'Wonders never Cease', but it does not have many flowers, so decided - no better ones on the market.

If the point is dark, that will be the Falls folded up, so Jane Phillips, Prince Charming, or Indian Chief, are contenders. We will see. The price often reflects their novelty or the difficulty in bulking up for sale. I loved 'Wonders Never Cease' on sight, but the French supplier said not many flowers, all bunched at the top, so decided against buying. Head over heart, good idea.
