Eranthis cilicia (Eranthis cilicica)

Bought in the green last year, first time of flowering. Put under a deciduous Azalea. I am hopeful that if it likes its position it will self seed.

Did you buy dry or 'in the green'? They are more difficult to establish from dry corms.

dry and late, corms looked ok and quite large , wait and see if not they are selling in the green now ...

They will happily seed Sue some of mine are under an Azalea ,my original plants were in the green they have spread from under the shrubs onto each side of the gravel path running beside the bushes I have to walk the middle line so as not to step on them ...

How lovely Amy, a carpet must be a colourful sight to rival a carpet of English bluebells.
G-g leave you with hope, but I never had much luck with dry corms.

I think ours have drowned lol bought all in the green too! had one flower out!!

That is a shame Dd, I think the Azalea keeps the soil beneath fairly dry.

No point in me planting them if they don't like drowning. :0)

E cilicia, which mine was labelled as, is suppose to be bigger variety of hyemalis but a little more difficult to establish than hyemalis coming from dryer country.
