After flowering, the flowers turn brown and remain on the plant, most unattractive!

I will show you when the centre has opened and a few flowers are dying back, not so pretty. Need to cut off the spent flowers then.

My lovely elderly next door neighbour, would like one of these. I have tried twice, so far, to strike cuttings with no success, am trying layering now. Would be easier to just buy her one!!
I clear up her big Magnolia's leaves in autumn. That's not altruistic, I bag them, for leaf mould. She would just put them in her green bin. And she has put up with my tea bags on one of her Hellebores.

Ours has one enormous wet bud......just one so far, like you I am not impressed!!

It's the dying flowers which are so unsightly.

We now have two buds lol

Then 3? Good things come to those who wait!
By the way, it is 4? years old, the first 3 in a pot, very meagre flowering then. Since putting in the ground, it has taken off.
